10-12 Year Olds
WORD Camps are the best part of school holidays! We have a variety of different camps during the holidays. Each camp we will ride, learn and giggle...heaps! Camps are open to kids of all MTB skill abilities. We split into groups, so we can ride with mates of similar radness.
April Holidays, 2024
Bookings open 14 March, 8pm
Each day we’ll explore the trail network in the area, learn some skills and have fun…heaps! Groups will still be split on the first morning into abilities/fitness/interests on the day. This camp we’ll also be doing a bit of trail building/maintenance, whoop whoop! Parents will drop off and pick up at the following locations.

These camps run 8.30am-3pm each day
15-16 April- Makara Peak and Mt Victoria
Cost: $215 for the 2 day camp
The 2 day camp and includes:
– Experienced and super fun WORD mountain bike instructor (1:8 ratio)
–WORD t-shirt and WORD sticker
Know your local camps!
Welcome to WORD! These camps are perfect if you’re new to mountain biking… we’ll spend time getting to know each other, learning some sweet skills, and exploring the trails. Riders will need to know how to ride a bike (including getting on and off their bike on their own) to really enjoy this camp. No off road experience necessary, that’s what we’re here for! Parents will drop off and pick up at the following locations.

These half day camps run 12.30-3.30pm each day
18-19 April- Makara and Mt Victoria
Cost: $100 for the 2 day camp
The 2 day camp and includes:

New to WORD camps!
Let’s go on an adventure! We’re getting into the rough stuff (think rocky and rooty trails!) at Rock and Roll camp! It’s perfect for those that have been to WORD before (you’ll want to be stoked about grade 3 trails to really love this camp). Parents will drop off in Aro Valley and pick up at Fergs on the waterfront.
This camp run 8.30am-3pm
19 April-10-13 year old girls only!(Polhill with rock climbing at Fergs!)
Cost: $115 for the 1 day camp
The 2 day camp includes:
– Experienced and super fun WORD mountain bike instructor (1:8 ratio)
–WORD t-shirt and WORD sticker
-Rock climbing entry
Girls’ only Rock and Roll camp!
Van Camps!
Let’s go on an adventure! We’ll jump in Vinny the van and head around town to some of our favourite spots. We’ll split into different groups based on abilities, fitness and riding preference each day for max fun. Parents will drop off and pick up at Michael Fowler centre.
15-16 April, 8.30am-3pm
10-13 year olds (co-ed)
Day 1: Belmont and Wainuiomata
Day 2: Miramar and Matarangi (Mt Victoria)
Cost: $255 for the 2 day camp

It’s time to get our hands dirty! This camp is all about learning to build and maintain the trails that we love. We’re teaming up with the Brooklyn Trail Builders for a day in the hills. Biking- building- snacking! Parents will drop off and pick up in Aro Valley.
