What is the Duke of Edinburgh Award?
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Hillary Award helps rangatahi aged 14 to 24 find out who they are and what they’re capable of through challenge, adventure and service. It’s part of the world’s leading youth achievement award, recognised in more than 120 countries and territories.
There are three levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Each young person shapes their own journey by learning new skills, getting outdoors, supporting their whānau and hapori, and stepping outside their comfort zone. Along the way they build confidence, resilience and leadership, and have experiences that stay with them for life.
