BRING A FRIEND DAY JUNE 28 2026-
WORD Bring a Friend / Have a Go Day is a fun, supportive introduction to mountain biking for young riders aged 7–12.
This session is designed for both new riders and current WORD participants who want to bring a friend along and share the experience of WORD. It’s a relaxed, welcoming environment focused on building confidence, social connection, and positive first experiences on the bike.
Riders will be grouped by age, ability and of course friends! The crews will be guided through some warm up games, basic skills, and a supported trail ride at either Karori Park or Makara MTB Park. Along the way, they can learn key fundamentals such as bike handling, trail etiquette, braking, body position, and riding different terrain safely and confidently.
The emphasis is on riding with mates, having fun, making new connections and learning.
This is also a great opportunity for parents and new families to experience WORD in action before committing to a full programme.
No cost, no pressure, no experience needed, just bring a friend and come ready to ride, learn, and have fun!
