WORD is a registered Non-Profit Organisation (NZ Charity Number CC50833). Our programmes are able to be delivered from participant fees, donations, corporate partnerships and grants. By having this funding mix we aim to keep our prices as low as possible.

All WORD programmes and camps are subsidised by around 30% thanks to our incredible community of partners and our donors.

WORD Premium Partner

Sport New Zealand have provided WORD a one-off investment to develop our teen programming with a specific focus on:

Maintaining and growing physical activity levels among rangatahi (13–17yrs)
Supporting the wellbeing and holistic development of young people
Delivering high-quality experiences that reflect the needs, interests, and aspirations of rangatahi

Teens engage in recreation in diverse ways, and participation in organised and active recreation often declines as young people reach their teenage years, particularly from around age 13. This investment has been created to respond to that challenge by supporting participation in ways that matter to young people, whether that is through outdoor enjoyment, social connection, leadership pathways, or opportunities to be active with their peers on mountain bikes.

We are stoked to be on this journey with Sport New Zealand and can’t wait to see how our teen programming develops from here!

The Wellington Mountain Bike Club is a charitable organisation based in Wellington, New Zealand. They support the local mountain biking community through: trails (building, maintenance and advocacy); events (such as the annual Wellington Enduro Series); and encourage the overall development and progression of mountain biking throughout our region. PNP Cycling Club

PNP organises track racing at the Wellington Velodrome in summer, Road races in summer and a series of mountain bike events during the year.
PNP is one of New Zealand's oldest cycling clubs (since 1926!), and is affiliated to Cycling NZ and Mountain Bike NZ.
The club consistently advertise our events, help us with track days, event equipment and support us with use of their clubrooms. They have also recently given us a donation towards a new van. Thanks PNP!
