 WORD Camps are the best part of school holidays! We have a variety of different camps during the holidays. Each camp we will ride, learn and giggle...heaps! Camps are open to kids of all MTB skill abilities. We split into groups, so we can ride with mates of similar radness.

New to WORD Camps

  • Date: NTW - 7-9 (Yr 3-6) 22/23 September

  • Duration: 3hours each day for two days

  • Times: 8:30-11:30

  • Locations: Makara Peak/Mt Vic

  • Cost: $115 for the camp.

This programme is co-ed and aimed at kids that are new to WORD or new to mountain biking. We'll have more time to focus on the fundamental skills and really get them dialled in! This will lay amazing foundations for future WORD sessions and their mountain bike journey!

They are paired up with an age specific instructor, who is great at teaching the fundamentals so your new mountain biker feels safe and in control of their ride. Groups will still be split on the first morning into abilities and fitness for the day with 1:8 instruction ratios.

Know your Local Camps

This is a 2 day or 3 day camp option. Each day we’ll explore the trail network in the area, learn some skills, have snacks and heaps of fun! We will split into smaller groups on the first morning based on abilities/fitness/interests and then head up on the trails! Parents will drop off and pick up at the following locations.

This camp runs from 8:30am-3pm each day. Since it is such a popular and fun camp, we are bringing you two options! See below where and when we will be running Know you Local these holidays.

Cost:

$367.50 for the 3 day camp includes:

  • Build your local - just like a Know your Local but with an element of Kaitiakitanga for the trails and the environment around us.

Van Camp

Let’s get out and explore the region! Each day we’ll meet and jump into Vinnie the WORD van to head off to different trails! We’ll split into groups when we’re riding… plenty of time to explore, learn a few skills, and make some new friends! To really make the most out of this camp, riders will want to be comfortable riding intermediate Grade 3 tracks such as Ikigai, Jailbrake, Electric Avenue and the likes.

Drop off and Pick up (3pm) your kiddo in front of Amora Hotel Wakefield Street each day. Vinnie the WORD Van will be driving us to each riding location, departing at 8:30am!
